Current Software Versions
INIT/SDK for Macintosh
Version 3.44 of the Instrument INIT was released today. This version works around a couple bugs when using the Keyspan PDA Adapter on a Macintosh; these bugs caused applications to hang or not recognize that an instrument was present. The Release Notes inside the INIT and SDK archives tell how to configure your PDA Adapter so that it will work properly.
Library/SDK for Windows
Version 3.44 of the Communications Library. This version contains a new function which allows the developer to retrieve a file handle to the comm port that the library is using to communicate to the Color Savvy instrument. This allows you to manually manipulate the comm port or send data out directly.
The modifications for the Macintosh INIT (see item above) were rolled into the Windows library as well; the problems seen on the Mac have not been reported under Windows, however.
Technical Support Web Pages Expand
The Technical Support web pages have now been split into user and developer pages. This page is mainly for developers. If you are developing software to communicate with any of Color Savvy's instruments, this is the page that will contain all the updates. If you can't find what you need here, or if there's something you'd like to see, please email us at swsupport@colorsavvy.com.
If you're using a ColorMouse to make color measurements, please visit the Technical Support page.
SavvyDev Mailing List
We've started a mailing list that will allow developers to interact directly with each other and with Color Savvy software developers. This list is also the primary way that Color Savvy will let developers know about SDK updates, new tools etc. To subscribe, send an email message to savvydev-subscribe@colorsavvy.com.
